SkyBitz Receives 2016 IoT Evolution Asset Tracking Award
Commercial telematics leader SkyBitz® has announced that the Galaxy GTP4050 has received the 2016 IoT Evolution Asset Tracking Award from IoT Evolution magazine.
IoT Evolution magazine is a leading publication covering the Internet of Things movement. The Galaxy GTP4050 is a global asset tracking product ideal for businesses with global operations, including offshore oil and gas assets, hazardous locations (HAZLOC), or involving hauling hazardous materials (HAZMAT). It provides complete visibility of assets even in the most remote locations – anywhere on earth.
The SkyBitz GTP4050 is the only two-way communication, GPS-satellite asset tag that is certified intrinsically safe for Europe (ATEX), International (IECEx), U.S. and Canada (UL). Customers can benefit from the ability to configure the device over-the-air to change reporting on the fly. Managers can receive exception based alerts and can configure the device to shut off or decrease reporting for periods of time to save even more power and unnecessary reporting. Alternatively, the device can be programmed to increase alerts when security breaches occur.
“We are honored to receive, for the second year in a row, the IoT Evolution Asset Tracking Award. To be recognized for developing a one of a kind asset tracking product that addresses the very specific needs of the oil and gas market further validates our commitment to our customers,” said Henry Popplewell, President, SkyBitz. “We look forward to continuing to deliver proven, customer-valued solutions that enable more efficient operations and fast return on investment.”
The Galaxy GTP4050 is ideal for tracking oil, gas, and chemical equipment that is often in remote and HAZLOC for long periods of time without any external power source. The Galaxy GTP4050 certification includes the unique ability for customers to change the device’s batteries while in HAZLOC, which improves overall reliability and significantly lowers overall cost of operation.
Company operators can run powerful management and operational reports through the SkyBitz InSight Web service. SkyBitz InSight allows for automated alerts through the use of SkyBitz SkyFences, which outline customized geo-perimeters around set-up landmarks. Customers can view their assets entire chain of events – from the arrival and departure from landmarks to all events occurring in between. Its analytical dashboards and customizable features capture the exact data needed for customers to monitor asset status and take action to gain better efficiencies.
“It is my pleasure to recognize SkyBitz with an IoT Evolution Asset Tracking Award for its continued innovation,” said Carl Ford, CEO & Community Developer for IoT Evolution. “As a leader in this rapidly evolving industry, I look forward to seeing SkyBitz’s future successes.”
Winners of the 2016 IoT Evolution Asset Tracking Award will be featured in the next edition of IoT Evolution magazine.
