SmartTruck,  a leading developer of aerodynamic solutions, is partnering with DAV (Disabled American Veterans) this holiday season to deliver supplies and raise funds to support military veterans.

SmartTruck kicked off their efforts by using one of their 18-wheel tractor-trailers to deliver supplies to a DAV facility on the Gulf Coast in Florida to help military families impacted by Hurricane Michael.

“More than 30 percent of our employees are military veterans so we feel a special connection with them,” said Steve Ingham, SmartTruck’s chief executive officer. “The members of our military services sacrifice so much to keep us all safe and we are honored to join with DAV to help our veterans.”

SmartTruck is asking members of the trucking industry to join them in contributing to Smart Truck’s Drive For Veterans campaign by making donations at www.dav.org/smarttruck.

“We are very appreciative of SmartTruck’s commitment to those who’ve served by supporting our mission through its SmartTruck Drive For Veterans,” said Marc Burgess, DAV’s CEO.  “The funds raised will help us meet the needs of many veterans who have given so much to our country.”

The SmartTruck campaign is being spearheaded by John Brown, senior vice president, sales and marketing, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps who served in Iraq.  “On behalf of all the veterans at SmartTruck, it is a special privilege to be able to give back to those who have served,” said Brown.
