Target Freight Management Announces Acquisition of National Traffic Service Inc
Fast growing tech start-up grows to a billion dollar idea in just ten years
Target Freight Management, Inc. (TFM), announced its acquisition of National Traffic Service Incorporated (NTS), a freight auditing and payment service. The acquisition will better serve the end-to-end logistical needs of TFM’s less-than-truckload, full truckload, and parcel freight customers throughout the United States and Canada. TFM will acquire all NTS assets, and will continue to offer existing services under the TFM brand.
NTS staff will remain fully operational in their Amherst, NY headquarters as National Traffic Service, Inc, A Division of Target Freight Management.
Founded in 1956, NTS provides automated shipment-level auditing and payment services that help streamline the shipping process for more than $1 billion in freight shipments each year. NTS’s proven logistical expertise and decades of proven cost savings for their customers complements TFM’s existing suite of proprietary transportation technologies and efficiency-driven freight management services.
“Our acquisition of National Traffic Service is a natural fit for TFM’s founding goal of providing our customers with the most efficient, reliable, and cost-effective shipping process possible,” said TFM founder and CEO Mike Wagner. “This acquisition considerably expands our client base, as well as our portfolio of proprietary technology, which helps us leverage our accumulated knowledge from both companies to better serve a wider variety of customers.”
The 33 employees at NTS headquarters in Amherst, NY, will join TFM’s growing family of offices that employ over 90 people nationwide in Santa Clarita, CA; Cleveland, OH; Nashville, TN; San Diego, CA; Cedar Rapids, IA and TFM’s corporate headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA.
