Turkish Minibus Transport Manufacturer Expands into Italy
Karsan, a leading Turkish automotive manufacturer focused on the creation, production and sales of urban and suburban transport vehicles, has launched a presence in Italy.
Called Karsan Italy S.R.L, it will be headquartered in Turin. Heading the operation will be David Siviero, who will serve as General Manager and has senior management experience with international companies in marketing, sales and aftersales services.
Karsan-Italy initially will provide marketing, sales and after-sales services for Karsan’s JEST, ATAK and STAR branded vehicles in the EU. The 6 meter “JEST” is, as the company describes, “a low floor mini bus which gives urban passengers large bus comfort, as well as an efficient, economic, ecological operation for the owner.
It has been designed for ease of entry and exit, is wheelchair accessible and is, the company notes, “the smallest, most economic line bus type operation vehicle available designed for seated and standing passengers as well.”
Other vehicles being marketing include the 8-meter low floor “ATAK” is a larger version of JEST with a passenger capacity of 60 including standing.
In addition, the company has the “STAR,” a short-distance intercity transportation/ shuttle bus version of ATAK, featuring a high floor, best in class luggage space and can accommodate up to 29 seated passengers.
