Fleet managers often struggle with two of the more difficult tasks in this profession:
• Transforming their fleets into sustainable, green operations
• Developing comprehensive fleet policies

NAFA Fleet Management Association has created two one-day, back-to-back workshops to teach fleet pros these essential skills. To be held on consecutive days in Las Vegas – February 20-21, 2018 – the workshops are designed to bring fleet professionals very quickly up to speed on the standards and best practices that will improve their fleet operations.

“Fleet managers often know their fleets need to become more sustainable – but frequently don’t know even where to start,” said NAFA CEO Phillip E. Russo. “Conversely, on-target fleet policies for all levels of their organizations will provide more efficient, safer operations, yet can be very difficult to even begin due to their potential complexity.”

NAFA’s “Sustainable Fleet Management Workshop” is the only-of-its-kind certificate program in the fleet industry. The day-long program is designed to educate fleet professionals on how to create a sustainable fleet program. It covers:
• Driver training
• Sustainable fuels and delivery systems
• Acquiring sustainable vehicles
• Measuring sustainable performance and sustainable leadership
• Change management

After attending the workshop, fleet pros will have the option of taking an exam and being awarded the NAFA Sustainable Fleet Management Certificate.  This program will also provide insights guaranteed to help fleet managers on their journeys to run NAFA-accredited sustainable fleets.

Tackling Policy Development
The following day, February 21, NAFA’s one-day “Fleet Policy Workshop” provides a mix of lecture and classroom exercises, leading to the creation of a robust policy framework. This structure will include a Fleet Management Manual, Driver Handbook, and Service Level Agreements.

Attendees at the Fleet Policy Workshop will be guided through the procedure creation process, practical tips on policy education and enforcement, pertinent legal issues, and policies of interest to corporate, government, utility, university, and other fleets. Fleet managers will leave with a useful workbook that includes recommended policy outlines, to make the creation of their own policies easy and straightforward.
“Tackling these perennial ‘to do’ items in just two days will help fleet professionals advance their departments right away,” Russo added. “These are skills they can implement the day the return back to work, and will have a noticeable impact on their organizations’ bottom lines.”

For attendees attending both back-to-back events, NAFA has priced the combined workshops at $649 for NAFA members and $799 for non-members. The pricing per workshop, if taken separately, is $349 each for NAFA members, and $449 each for non-members.
