U-Haul Offers Free Storage and U-Box to Iowa Tornado Victims
U-Haul Company of Iowa is offering 30 days of free self-storage and U-Box container usage to residents who have been impacted by the high winds and severe storms associated with the tornadoes that touched down Thursday in central Iowa.
Winds blew down trees, downed power lines and damaged buildings. Heavy rains and hail were also part of the storm.
“Several people have been injured and even more are without power,” U-Haul Company of Iowa president Randy Dickson said. “Many of our neighbors are having to deal with damage and as a caring member of this community, we want to make sure these folks have a safe and secure place to store their possessions.”
Families seeking self-storage assistance can contact the nearest participating U-Haul facility.
With U-Box containers, customers can conveniently pick up a custom-designed trailer and take the U-Box with you. U-Haul also can store a U-Box container in the company’s secure warehouses or pick up and deliver it to a location of choice.
U-Haul is the industry leader in do-it-yourself moving and self-storage with more than 21,000 locations across the U.S. and Canada. In addition to its 30 days free self-storage disaster relief program, U-Haul is proud to be at the forefront of aiding communities in times of need as an official American Red Cross Disaster Responder.
