USA Truck Continues its Fleet Reinvestment Program
USA Truck, Inc. (NASDAQ: USAK), a leading transportation and logistics provider, has received initial delivery of 150 2014 Navistar International ProStar model tractors.
They are slated for arrival throughout the fourth quarter of 2013 and into January 2014. This new order follows the 250 new tractors and 400 new trailers purchased and put into service earlier this year.Through this continued investment of equipment, USA Truck is maintaining and reinvesting in a modern fleet of Class 8 trucks with an average age of 2.5 years, well below the industry average of 6.6 years for 2012 according to ACT Research.
“As part of our ongoing fleet reinvestment program, we will replace almost one-fifth of our company tractors in 2013,” said John Simone, President and CEO of USA Truck. “These new quality tractors are equipped with the latest technology needed to continue improving our fleet fuel efficiency and the amenities required to provide the comfort our driver team members deserve.”
Mr. Simone added, “Under the leadership of Jim Cade, our Vice President of Maintenance, in addition to completing our fleet reinvestment program, we are implementing several initiatives to enhance the Company’s maintenance processes in order to reduce vehicle operating costs and improve operational execution.”
