| March 9, 2014

Westcan BulkWestcan Bulk Transport, one of Western Canada’slargest haulers of liquid and dry bulk commodities and a division of RTL-Westcan, has just notched an important milestone — 50 years in the transportation industry.

Founded in 1964 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Westcan Bulk Transport started out with a small fleet of 14 trucks hauling asphalt. Through expansion and numerous acquisitions, the company has grown to become a leading bulk commodity hauler in Western Canada and the Western Arctic.

Today, Westcan Bulk Transport has a fleet of over 500 trucks, including 77 owner operators, and 1,650 trailers, and operates out of 16 locations across Alberta, Saskatchewan, British Columbia, and the Northwest Territories.

In November 2013, RTL-Westcan was purchased by The Kenan Advantage Group, North America’s largest tank truck transporter and logistics provider, as the flagship company for their Canadian presence.

Currently, Westcan Bulk Transport serves the bulk transportation needs of over 500 customers in the energy, mining, agriculture, and construction industries.
