United Bus Technology Issues Reminder on ELD Mandate

United Bus Technology (UBT), a leading IT solution provider for the motorcoach industry, is reaching out to both bus and truck owners who have not yet installed an electronic logging device (ELD) to inform them that the date for compliance has passed, and that they are poised to aid any who need help in getting compliant with their fleet.

The Electronic Logging Device mandate was implemented on December 18, 2017.

UBT’s ELD features a system that is fully certified to be compliant with FMCSA’s ELD technical specifications. In addition, UBT’s ELD makes it easier for drivers who work for multiple employers to keep track of their total compensated work hours by providing them with a data sheet that is easy to fill out and that complies with §395.8(j)(2). Consumers have cited it as being very intuitive to use and aiding in making an otherwise complicated regulation effortless to comply with.

“Compared to many on the market, UBT’s ELD is one of the most reliable on the market,” says Godfrey Lebron, former chairman of the United Motorcoach Association and master driver trainer. “It is a tool that solves many issues facing motorcoach drivers today.”

Also invaluable is UBT’s ELD app solution, which fixes a number of potential issues. By downloading the app, drivers are able to freely access their logs if access to the tablet, which is used for logging hours, is unavailable. The app works as a solution for when the tablet is damaged or otherwise out of use. UBT’s stance is that while there are many headaches for drivers today, UBT’s ELD helps make their lives much easier.

UBT is committed to continue developing hardware and software that is compliant while remaining accurate and reliable for both drivers and passengers. UBT hopes that by bringing awareness to this deadline, they can aid drivers who still do not have ELD’s and make the road a safer place while making the drivers’ jobs more manageable.
