Doggett Equipment Services, one of the largest dealers for multiple first-tier heavy equipment manufacturers, including John Deere, has opted to utilize an on-board digital video recording and collision avoidance systems for its fleet of 80 service vehicles.

The company noted  two key reasons for selecting Safety Vision’s Observer 4100 system: training drivers and refuting false claims. The recordings make the drivers accountable for their performance, thus making for a safer driver environment.  Doggett also noted that  with both cameras and recorders cutting down the false accusations against drivers, they “also save time trying to prove employees’ innocence.”

Doggett is comprised of four divisions: Construction and Forestry Equipment, Crane Services, Material Handling and Forklifts, and Highway and Severe Duty Trucks. Together they employ over 1500 personnel in over 30 dealerships across Texas and Louisiana, with the main headquarters in Houston and regional headquarters in Baton Rouge and San Antonio.

Doggett has over 70 employees on the road at any given time in order to provide service to its considerable customer base. Mobile service trucks reduce the time spent having to transport equipment to a dealership, reducing downtime. For these trucks, Doggett has selected Observer™ 4100 digital video recorder and 41 series mini-dome cameras.

Cameras will face out of the windshield to record events on the road, as well as in the cabin to capture driver activity. Additionally, a rear-facing camera and cabin-mounted monitor will provide collision avoidance when the vehicle is placed into reverse.

All recorded video will be wirelessly downloaded to a central server automatically when a vehicle returns to their dealership facility and managed with the advanced Foresight PRO software.
