Alta eMobility Expands Nikola Dealership Territory to Michigan
Brings Electric and Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Trucks and Infrastructure to Fleets
Alta eMobility, a leader in turnkey fleet electrification solutions, has announced its expansion with Nikola Corporation (Nasdaq: NKLA), a global leader in zero-emissions transportation and energy supply and infrastructure solutions, into Michigan to provide customers with electric and hydrogen fleets, workplace charging solutions, electrification business strategies, and resources to navigate funding and incentives. Through this agreement, Alta eMobility becomes the exclusive provider of sales and service for the Nikola Tre battery-electric vehicle (BEV) and the hydrogen fuel cell electric trucks in Michigan, which will expand the company’s Nikola dealer network to 12 states nationally.
Alta eMobility is based in Livonia, Michigan, where its parent company Alta Equipment Group has been operating for nearly 40 years and has developed a large footprint of operations throughout the state. This provides Alta eMobility and Nikola with immediate sales and service advantages that will benefit fleet customers. Alta eMobility’s expansion into Michigan works in partnership with the existing sales and service that Alta Equipment Group is already providing to customers in both the construction and material handling industries.
“Alta eMobility is thrilled to expand dealership territories into our home state,” said Mike Bucci, vice president, Alta eMobility. “There are many synergies between our verticals and current customers already. This expansion will enable us to help our customers rapidly meet their sustainability goals.”
With a range of up to 330 miles and up to 500 miles for the Tre BEV and hydrogen fuel cell electric trucks, respectively, Nikola’s Class 8 semi-trucks are ideal for shorter-haul and stop-and-go routes, which are prominent in Michigan due to its international border crossings and multiple ports. Bringing the Nikola zero-emission trucks to Michigan also supports the State’s bold measures to deliver a carbon-neutral economy and significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, as identified in the MI Healthy Climate Plan issues by the Michigan Department of Environmental, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) office.
“This agreement marks an important opportunity for Alta, Nikola, the State of Michigan and the thousands of companies putting fleets on the road every day,” said Ryan Greenawalt, chairman and CEO of Alta Equipment Group. “Alta is committed to helping customers hit their sustainability objectives by supporting them in every step of the journey, from planning to execution to maintenance, and we’re proud to now be able to provide all of the expertise and services of Alta eMobility to the state we call home.”
