DHLDHL Global Forwarding, the air and ocean freight specialist within Deutsche Post DHL, will now offer customers a mobile app to track their ocean and air freight shipments.

DHL App“DGF Cargo Mobile Tracking provides customers the current status of their transports in a very convenient way – in real time and no matter where they currently are. Logistics and warehouse managers also benefit by tracking time sensitive shipments and adapting their planning. We strive for customer satisfaction excellence and with this mobility solution our customer’s will be able to access key information vital to their value chain cycles in a simple and agile manner,” said Ricardo A. Bartra, CIO, DHL Global Forwarding, Americas.

The app offers four functions to the user: seeking shipments, saving search queries, a detailed shipping history of the past six months, and a “location finder” that shows the nearest DHL Global Forwarding office and its contact details. The search function displays not just the current shipment status; it also allows customers to track further details of the shipment process, such as the shipment’s starting time, current location and estimated time of arrival. An individual report of the past six months supports users in checking their shipments’ economic efficiency. Finally the “Save Search” function saves pre-defined search queries, such as multi-digit consignment numbers that can be called up again with ease.

The apps are available for free on the regular and official app stores for a variety of different platforms.
