FMCSA Debuts New Pre-Employment Screening Portal

| April 5, 2014

HD TrucksThe Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has just released an enhanced version of its Pre-Employment Screening Program (PSP), first introduced in 2010.

Available at www.psp.fmcsa.dot.gov, and developed in partnership with NIC Technologies, the program “helps carriers make more informed hiring decisions by providing secure, electronic access to a commercial driver’s five-year crash and three-year inspection history from the FMCSA Motor Carrier Management Information System (MCMIS).”

PSP records are available for commercial drivers and companies conducting pre-employment screening for the carrier industry.

The service is available at no cost, and the system is supported through the user fees paid by carriers and drivers requesting PSP records.
