Ford Transit on Pace to Dominate the Van Segment

Ford Transit

Ford’s recently introduced Transit is quickly on pace to dominate the industry and replace the E-Series as the nation’s best-selling full-size cargo van.

In November alone, more than 4,800 Transits were purchased and the van outsold the E-Series, the Chevrolet Express and all other competitors.

The Transit was only introduced in June, and since that time Ford has sold more than 10,000 Transits.

By way of background, Ford’s E-Series has been the best-selling commercial van in the U.S. for 34 straight years.

That’s all about to change, as Ford is replacing it with a Transit — a vehicle that has been popular for years in Europe.

The full-size Transit comes with a standard 3.7-liter V-6 and is available in multiple configurations, including three body lengths, two wheelbases, three roof heights and van, wagon, chassis cab and cutaway variations.
