Connected vehicle monitoring is going global — quickly.  The latest example is Norwegian telematics provider ABAX, which has been chosen by the Chinese chemistry giant Sinochem as its vendor for the company’s fleet of container tanks and heavy equipment.

Noted Petter Quinsgaard, CEO of ABAX Group, “China is an important market for us and we are proud that Sinochem has chosen us to be their telematics partner. This agreement is an important strategic milestone for us and it will greatly strengthen our position in the Chinese market.”

The three year agreement anticipates dABAX delivering up to 40,000 subscriptions per year to Sinochem. Additionally ABAX sees the agreement as an important platform for it to continue driving technology innovation within the telematics industry.

ABAX only entered the Chinese market in July 2016 and is based in Nantong City, Jiangsu. In December 2016 the company announced a newly formed strategic partnership with the telecom company China Mobile.
