Joe Mejaly named to lead General Dynamics’ AxleTech International

Joe MejalyJoseph (Joe) L. Mejaly has been appointed vice president and general manager of AxleTech International, a General Dynamics company.

AxleTech develops and manufactures axles, brakes and suspension systems for off-highway and specialty vehicles.

Mejaly will lead the company’s global management team in executing customer-focused strategies to develop and deliver high-quality products that exceed customers’ expectations.

Wilson, president of General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems. “Under Joe’s direction, our AxleTech management team will focus on meeting our customers’ market-driven product development needs to ensure that we provide high-quality products capable of delivering superior performance.”

AxleTech International is a premier supplier of off-highway and specialty vehicle drivetrain systems and components. AxleTech focuses on nine vocational markets: agricultural, aircraft ground support, construction, forestry, material handling, military, mining, specialty truck and transit. AxleTech also provides aftermarket service and support in all markets.

Previously, Mejaly served as vice president of Meritor, Inc., and president of Meritor’s Aftermarket & Trailer group, based in Troy. Mejaly holds a Bachelor’s degree in business administration from Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, Mich.
