Comdata, a leader in the payment industry for more than 50 years, has announced the expansion of its fleet management offerings to better support smaller over-the-road (OTR) trucking firms.

The result: Comdata’s MyFleet Program. It is a custom portfolio of services that allows fleets with up to 100 trucks to address critical operating challenges—lowering costs, staying compliant and accessing the capital they need to run their businesses. In addition, Comdata delivers a personalized partnership experience.

Here’s why it’s so import: The small fleet segment is a critical component of the overall trucking industry. According to the recently released 2016 American Trucking Association (ATA) Trends Report estimated that over 97 percent of the interstate carriers in the United States fit into this 1–100 truck market.

Despite its size, this market tends to be under-served due to a narrow set of offerings and the difficulty many service providers have in reaching this highly dispersed audience. With its broad portfolio of internal and partner solutions, Comdata is in a unique position to help now

The Comdata MyFleet Program includes a unique blend of offerings directly from Comdata as well as through leading partners. Through the MyFleet Program web portal, Comdata’s small fleet customers can take advantage of offerings in the following categories:

  • Save Me Money: Pre-negotiated discounts and time savings on expenses such as fuel, hotel stays and scale weighs
  • Find Me Capital: Flexible options for establishing credit, pre-funded, factoring and short-term micro-loan accounts to support OTR purchases
  • Keep Me Compliant: Broad range of solutions address IFTA requirements, permitting, licensing services, IRS 2290 filings, pilot cars and more

Through the years, Comdata’s has focused primarily on larger fleets. Now, with a new offering targeted to smaller businesses, Comdata is poised to deliver savings and compliance programs that will help them manage fuel costs and the total operating cost of the fleet.

According to Comdata survey results, small fleets spend approximately 30 hours per week on non-driving activities, such as compliance and administrative work.  To boost efficiency, the Comdata MyFleet Program also includes a fuel tax offering ,as well as preferred pre-funding and line of credit arrangements designed to speed access to cash.
