Pep Boys Names Scott P. Sider Chief Executive Officer

The Pep Boys, the nation’s leading automotive aftermarket service and retail chain, announced the appointment of Scott P. Sider as its new Chief Executive Officer. Sider was also appointed to the Board of Directors.

Sider, 54, most recently served as Hertz Corporation’s Group President, Rent A Car Americas, their largest division, a multi-billion dollar business with over 3,200 locations and 16,000 employees. Sider joined Hertz in 1983 and over the course of his tenure assumed many leadership positions of increasing responsibility including Area Manager Manhattan, Divisional Vice President Western Region and President, Off Airport Operations.

John Sweetwood, who is currently serving as Interim Chief Executive Officer, will resume his position as an independent Board member.
