Teamsters Withdraw Election Petition in Nashville

FedEx Freight, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX), announced that, for the fourth time in five weeks, the Teamsters union has withdrawn an election petition, this time at the FedEx Freight service center in Nashville, TN.

FedEx noted: “The union would only take this action if it recognized that it would lose.”

“Our drivers continue to send a clear message that the union is not needed and not wanted,” said Pat Reed, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President, FedEx Freight. “We remain confident that the vast majority of our team members want to continue their direct relationship with management without third party interference.”

To date, FedEx Freight drivers have voted against the union in Louisville, KY, Delanco, NJ, and Newark, NJ. In addition, the union has withdrawn petitions before the scheduled elections in Nashville, TN, Middletown, PA, South Newark, NJ, and Richmond, VA.
